Why join the clan?
We're a profitable, fully bootstrapped South African startup in the billing and website hosting fields. SnapBill, our recurring billing system, has enjoyed success with thousands of businesses ranging from SME's all the way to insurance companies and other enterprise businesses. We focus on being easy to use, while aiming to be as functional as possible. Internally this means a template language and a custom framework that's designed to make common scenario's easy to code. SnapBill is written in PHP and also includes backend scripts written in Python. Our challenges include scaling, processing of large tasks, security and maintaining a large code base.
The other side of our business is focused on helping website designers earn more money by providing a kickass reseller hosting services. We call this service HostDeploy and it is fully integrated with SnapBill. HostDeploy is fully white-label and completely brandable giving the end users the feeling that they're dealing directly with their website designer. We are in effect invisible. This system is newly developed, lightweight and is based on the Amazon EC2 cloud. HostDeploy uses Python for managing servers, Rails for the frontend and Node.js at its core. HostDeploy is still in its beta phase, so there still a lot to do, but we're confident if we can pull it off right it'll make serious waves in the website hosting market.
Our Code
We are a small, fast paced company, and have every intention of remaining that way through our growth. We adhere to many of the San Francisco bay area born principles of the "lean startup". We run on a continuous deployment (Jenkins) system with automatically tested (Selenium) changes pushed live a couple of times per day.

Working with us
We are working hard to put Cape Town on the map in the international tech scene. We have considered setting up shop in Silicon Valley, but we love South Africa, so would much rather enjoy the awesome natural beauty and chilled Capetonian atmosphere.
You'll be the second full-time developer in our small company and will have a large part in shaping our future. Its often said the first few employees shape a companies future, so we're searching for the right match.
